Break the light bulbs in your own home with a slingshot and small rocks before the electricity is cut off. This was the exercise proposed by Oscar Pabón to his father, José Pabón, an elderly man with Alzheimer’s. This short film documents an unusual way of turning off the lights while a voice-over —the father’s— recounts his earliest childhood memories during the dictatorship of Marcos Pérez Jiménez. It is an exercise that connects different forms of memory over time, portraying the present of a country through a man who is trying to remember his past
